Be aware that tests of currency in the United States and in Asia has found
colonies of bacteria living on the media. The older the money, the higher the
bacteria count. Most of the bacteria is harmless, but strains of Salmonella
Aureus, and E.Coli 157 were found on currency (University of Georgia / Drury
University/ Hong Kong’s City University studies). The more money handled, the
more susceptible to the transmission of germs. Regular hand washing will provide
protection from transmittal to eyes, noses as well as ingestion, however most
workers cannot take frequent hand washing breaks. In between hand washings, use
the anti-microbial AgTex hand wipe. Use it often, wet or dry, to kill germs
without the use of gels that can dry and crack skin.
AgTex wipes use the anti-microbial properties of silver to reduce bacteria
counts. Silver has been tested for antibacterial properties at Brigham Young
University and the University of North Texas, the results from both studies show
a wide range of bacteria and viruses destroyed. Silver has been shown to be an
antibacterial or anti-fungal agent acting on all tested species. This includes
Staphylococcus aureus (i.e., MRSA, or Methicillon,Resistant Staph aureus) and
Escherichia faecalis (i.e., VRE, or Vancomycin Resistance Escherichia faecalis).
Care instructions: AgTex wipes can be machine washed cold, delicate cycle and
line dried with no reduction in effectiveness.
